“The soil is the great connector of lives, the source and destination of all. … Without proper care for it we can have no community, because without proper care for it we can have no life.”
— Wendell Berry, The Unsettling of America: Culture & Agriculture (1977)
Have you ever stumbled across an amazing local farm stand?
Have you ever stumbled across an amazing local farm stand? Have you seen one while you are driving down the road? One growing clean, honest food, but virtually invisible online because the farmers are too busy tending their soil to worry about marketing?
Walking down a big grocery chain aisle can feel discouraging. So much of the mass-produced food on those shelves is loaded with synthetic chemicals, pesticides, and preservatives. Finding truly fresh, naturally grown food shouldn’t feel like a guessing game.
Native Green Garden Supplies wants to change that.
We want to give our community better, easier ways to connect with good, healthy food. We are starting right here where we live on Long Island. Neighbors share the hidden-gem stands they trust, and we verify each one before adding it to our interactive map.
To make sure this process works right and stays trustworthy, we are keeping our hands-on focus strictly on Long Island.
Because we live here, we can personally verify each stand and ensure they share our commitment to clean, chemical-free growing practices. Once we prove this model works in our own backyard, we hope neighbors in other regions use it as a blueprint to launch farm stand finders in their own communities!
Our hope is that other regions see how simple this is and launch their own local guides. We are all part of one global community, and when we help each other nourish our families naturally, everyone wins.
We also included some extra links to national sources that you can find useful on the Long Island Farm Stand Finder page.
Thank you for visiting. Grow it green. Grow it forward.
